Getting NREMT-B Certified.
The ink is still drying on my NYS EMT card and I wanted to find a way to try the extra step of getting nationally certified - to become a NREMT. If you were in a recent EMT-B class the process is very easy and just involves starting the application process at the website: NREMT Online
The process is rather simple and the total cost is $70 to take the exam (to be approved for it) your county EMS director will have to verify that you successfully tested out (practical exam) and completed the class. The way I see it ,being more mobile can not hurt. I am using the website: http://www.emtprep.com to prepare (along with notes and books). But to practice testing ... this is a great site.

Resources for EMT-B Students in New York
This website has been created as a place where those EMT-B students in New York State can come and find resources to help them study for their practical and written exams while also providing an adjunct to their work.
NYSEMTResources is not affiliated with any specific EMT class or agency. It was created as my own resource and organizational tool -- and I decided it might help others too. It's a work in progress and will grow as I learn more, discover more resources and move into EMT-B work. Right now, I am a student and am working through my class with the specter of the Practical and Written exams coming up in June 2012. |
